Blasting Through the Past
Path of Exile 1 has been around now for 13 years, PoE 2 is about to be born, and Forever Exiled is almost 7 years old! With Path 1's 3.30 announcement this week, and with ExileCon coming up, we got talking on the on the scheduling of the games, what's hopefully going to be announced, and we even blast through some older topics. Thanks for tuning in for episode 366 this week! We love your faces!
This week, we break down GGG’s newly announced plans for Path of Exile 1 update 3.30 and debate whether launching it so close to Path of Exile 2’s full release is brilliant scheduling or a dangerous amount of PoE all at once. We also talk about the unusual silence leading into ExileCon 2026, what we expect to see revealed, and whether classes, Ascendancies, weapon types, skills, and other promised content will be ready for launch.
Then we dig through years of old Forever Exiled notes to see which Path of Exile discussions still hold up. That takes us through crafting improvements, loot filters, auras, attributes, melee accuracy, death recaps, guild functionality, hideout editing, keyboard-and-mouse support on console, and some very old Path of Exile 2 promises. We finish by revisiting the PoE 2 endgame, Atlas passive progression, mapping frustrations, boss encounters, and the changes we still hope GGG has planned.
00 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, come to Forever XL, I'm Justin A.K. [SPEAKER_00]: Tags. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm Dodd, Switch, and I'm Tyler Rekker of Days. [SPEAKER_00]: I know, I know I need a better poker face, otherwise. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm Tyler Rekker of Days. [SPEAKER_00]: Hi. [SPEAKER_00]: You are nice to see everybody. [SPEAKER_00]: Rekker of Days. [SPEAKER_00]: Episode 366. [SPEAKER_00]: Just making a note of that. [SPEAKER_00]: 366 Forever XL. [SPEAKER_00]: Why would we do? [SPEAKER_00]: No, I just did, it doesn't, I put the number in the top left corner, because then I can see it for reference. [SPEAKER_00]: Because previously, it said Tyler Tyler Tags. [SPEAKER_00]: So helpful. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, here we are 366 forever exiled big shout out to our patrons thanks to everybody who Re-subbed up this past week. [SPEAKER_00]: Patron gets your access to afterwards our podcast after the podcast And we keep just talking Anyway, yeah, it's a good one buddy.
46 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm doing well, man. [SPEAKER_00]: How are you? [SPEAKER_00]: I'm good. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah life's good. [SPEAKER_00]: How's your week been? [SPEAKER_00]: How's Oh, uh, we did just before you talk about your week [SPEAKER_00]: Kudos to everybody who tried to spell to Watson. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I did see a lot of spelling. [SPEAKER_00]: There was only actually no, I didn't see any correct ones. [SPEAKER_00]: Some very close ones. [SPEAKER_00]: But it also is the, how do you even spell it? [SPEAKER_00]: Do you have it? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I put it in our notes. [SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for looking. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, it's, uh, [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so here's the spelling and Justin and I are obviously gonna say that we don't have to look at that. [SPEAKER_01]: We definitely do Don't matter how many times you've taken the ferry unless you live into awesome out here and nobody needs to know this But unless you live into awesome Nobody needs to know about to awesome [SPEAKER_01]: No, it's just like almost every other city on the planet, but like the only reason anybody here knows about Twason is that's where one of the major fairy term Those are to get to Vancouver Island.
39 [SPEAKER_01]: And so Twason for all those that actually interacted with us. [SPEAKER_01]: It was awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: T-S-A-W-A-S-S-E-N. That's right. [SPEAKER_01]: There's two W's. [SPEAKER_01]: There were some close. [SPEAKER_01]: It's close one. [SPEAKER_01]: That's, we'll blast it. [SPEAKER_01]: That's awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: That's awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: That's how you spell it. [SPEAKER_00]: I did see some, uh, some good guesses some terrible guesses. [SPEAKER_00]: I did see one correct guess, but I deleted it because I knew that they cheated. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, what they cheated on. [SPEAKER_00]: I have to tell you why I deleted the comment later, but yeah, so I know they cheated. [SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, yeah, that's how you spell it. [SPEAKER_00]: How is your week? [SPEAKER_00]: How's your life? [SPEAKER_00]: How's things?
19 [SPEAKER_00]: I had a good week. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, kids are by by the time people hear this, the kids will know, know that they're going on the trip with me. [SPEAKER_01]: When you tell them to decided that we're going to tell what days today for Friday. [SPEAKER_01]: We're telling them today dinner time. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, fun. [SPEAKER_01]: I still haven't figured out like it is something special. [SPEAKER_01]: So sometimes you kind of want to do something special to reveal it. [SPEAKER_01]: So not not not too too sure how we're going to do it, but I'm kind of getting antsy with it, you know, and I mean, like we're only a few weeks away, but sure, you know, teachers got to know and the people that are hanging out like my mom who's helping out and you know, she can't say anything. [SPEAKER_01]: So I kind of want to get it out there so they don't have to talk about anymore. [SPEAKER_01]: Or have it, have it as a secret, something to get for them to get excited about.
01 [SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to be doing that tonight. [SPEAKER_01]: But things are good, and funny, well, I think I mentioned this last week, but all of us sick, so now I'm sick, so excuse me, I apologize if you have lots to edit all to my best to hit the mute button. [SPEAKER_01]: But [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's sick, and I'm like, okay, like, no, like, Viola, you drink from Oliver's glass right now. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, he can never get sick. [SPEAKER_01]: So like, yeah, like, we're not getting sick and for this fly tour for the trip there. [SPEAKER_01]: Sure, mm, mm, mm, mm, so, uh, yeah, but not it's, it's been really good. [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, everybody's just been healthy and getting along and the kids have just been marvelous kids. [SPEAKER_01]: It's one of those weeks where you feel like you're doing a good job as a parent, you know what I mean?
46 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they've made them cry so much, you don't even know. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's how you feel good. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, when your hand is right from the space. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I tell them, I joke all the time that I only feel like I'm a good parent when my glass is full of tears. [SPEAKER_01]: Feed me, feed me your tears, but I may know, things are really good, things are really good. [SPEAKER_01]: My wife's work schedule is going to be changing by the end of the month just before we go on the trip. [SPEAKER_01]: And so, uh, just lifestyle changes in that regard and how we get around and go to certain places and things like that. [SPEAKER_01]: So, go get, hmm, speed. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, how do you tell me about your week? [SPEAKER_00]: It was, it was busy. [SPEAKER_00]: It was good though. [SPEAKER_00]: We, what did we do? [SPEAKER_00]: We finished watching season two of friends and neighbors with John Hamm.
29 [SPEAKER_00]: That was good. [SPEAKER_00]: There's two seasons. [SPEAKER_00]: Yep. [SPEAKER_00]: The second season is done. [SPEAKER_00]: It was a lot of just driving around this week. [SPEAKER_00]: We had thanks giving this past weekend so we had a bunch of family over for that, which was a day. [SPEAKER_00]: I went, uh, we went and walked white rock yesterday, so that was nice. [SPEAKER_00]: Nice, beautiful. [SPEAKER_00]: I hear that's near so awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: It is close to so awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, in that general direction, but uh, yeah, no, so that was nice. [SPEAKER_00]: And then I have hopefully it's not loud, but I have construction happening next door. [SPEAKER_00]: And, uh, I, so in our bedroom, I tend to open the windows in the morning.
19 [SPEAKER_00]: back, go into the bathroom to have shower and get ready. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but I did that a couple of days ago, get out of the shower, get myself ready, get myself dressed. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm hearing noise and like, man, what is happening outside like what, and you have to remember like, because we live on a hill and because of the side of the house that my room is on, when you look out the windows, you don't see anything except it's beautiful. [SPEAKER_00]: It's nice. [SPEAKER_00]: You just see the tops of some houses and then even our neighbors, you just see room right. [SPEAKER_00]: People looking in which is why I don't have a problem with the windows up [SPEAKER_00]: Give myself dressed. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, what the hell is that noise? [SPEAKER_00]: And so I step into the bathtub to like look through the window to try and see like what's happening. [SPEAKER_00]: And I look over.
00 [SPEAKER_00]: And this house right here has like seven dudes on the roof like doing some work. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the bathroom. [SPEAKER_00]: I never close the door because nobody's home. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's just a straight shot right out the window. [SPEAKER_00]: And I hit all right on a yeah, yeah, I give a show. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think you, I don't even do the helicopter for them. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't even remember what I did, but they got the whole bits, so good for you. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but otherwise, no, life's good, it's very busy, but kids are happy and healthy. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, play, I meant, did I play much this week? [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think I did. [SPEAKER_00]: I played like a tiny bit of wow.
41 [SPEAKER_00]: And shrouded just came out with its 1.0 release, so I probably will try that because I already have it. [SPEAKER_00]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to think what else? [SPEAKER_00]: The fun wise Aaron was excited. [SPEAKER_00]: Field's a mystery, just did that, too. [SPEAKER_00]: What does Field's a mystery? [SPEAKER_00]: Is that a game? [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to forget. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, just came out with its 1.0, whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Nice. [SPEAKER_00]: Peowie 2's coming out with its 1.0 pretty soon. [SPEAKER_00]: So I've heard 1.0 releases are fun. [SPEAKER_00]: F U L L. Yep. [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I haven't really played. [SPEAKER_00]: I started, okay. [SPEAKER_00]: I never watched South Park growing up. [SPEAKER_00]: good lord. [SPEAKER_00]: I knew my parents would eat that life out of me. [SPEAKER_00]: Even when I look at the years that it came out, I was probably just so guilt-ridden about the idea of even thinking to watch it that I never watched it even like as I grew up, grew older.
26 [SPEAKER_00]: So I started watching some of them. [SPEAKER_00]: It's pretty funny. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, especially the older ones that aren't really adhering to being politically correct, right, when there was a lot more freedom. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, not be politically correct, right? [SPEAKER_01]: So the older ones definitely cross a lot of lines if you're to watch, especially from time to day. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Of course, they still try and like go against the grain with all that kind of stuff, but you know, different world different culture, but yeah, pretty I love that I mean get missed like any Yeah, some show some funny, but I like I like how it mocks sort of just us as a people in different things and how silly some of these things are like, you know, in one of it the last episode, I watched they were it was about to say shit on for like the first time on TV and so they [SPEAKER_00]: on like normal TV, right?
22 [SPEAKER_00]: Not like whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think in that episode, they kept the counter and it hit 162 times in the South Park episode that they said the word shit. [SPEAKER_00]: It just made me laugh. [SPEAKER_00]: Like it was it was quite funny. [SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, I've watched a few episodes of that and they have they've given me a laugh sometimes. [SPEAKER_00]: So. [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah man, life's good, things are good. [SPEAKER_00]: Can't complain school. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah good, glad to hear it, glad to hear it. [SPEAKER_00]: And did you know Justin? [SPEAKER_00]: Did I know? [SPEAKER_01]: October 23rd. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: 13 years ago, Path of Excel came out on PC. [SPEAKER_00]: For 23rd.
02 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's we'll be recording that next that day next week. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's special. [SPEAKER_00]: It is special I'm opening your notes. [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm just making sure I see. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you're right October 23rd. [SPEAKER_01]: Windows PC release and You're you're almost old to hey next ever [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I got a few weeks. [SPEAKER_01]: Get join Repdigit Club. [SPEAKER_01]: Come on, Repdigit Club is way cooler than 45. [SPEAKER_01]: Finally catching up to all my friends. [SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're a late bloomer, man. [SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_01]: Bit you those guys on the roof and do that. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Just waiting for that to settle in. [SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_01]: So, um... [SPEAKER_01]: my lawn's grown. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and all the wrong directions.
44 [SPEAKER_01]: I swear. [SPEAKER_01]: Like it only grows into the garden. [SPEAKER_01]: It never grows. [SPEAKER_01]: The soil's so good, right? [SPEAKER_01]: After we had the the flood that gave me such amazing garden soil, it's like the the most of the gardening that I do is getting rid of the lawn in the garden. [SPEAKER_01]: And then like, it's just weeds growing in all the bare spots and that's on them. [SPEAKER_01]: No, go that way, go that way. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I even bought some scots 911 to try and fix it up just because we had like a relatively decent weather with the exception of rain for it, right? [SPEAKER_01]: I know it's like the end of the season, but whatever do some now, then do some spring. [SPEAKER_01]: Just to help it along. [SPEAKER_01]: No, didn't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: No, those weeds are like, ain't going for it.
24 [SPEAKER_01]: That sucks. [SPEAKER_01]: No, the birds are like, thanks. [SPEAKER_01]: I know. [SPEAKER_00]: when we were on like cursing at mother nature and multiple regards animals when they finish the wall on the front of the house they put down soil on top right to like clean it up but I didn't see it because it was at a bad time like there wasn't a good time and then at this point now I just be feeding the birds so but I do see grass growing up through it now at least but it's not going to look great for a little bit. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, I'm curious what next year is going to be I'm looking for it to be eating the weeds next year. [SPEAKER_01]: Might put some effort in just to make it because it's pretty dead now.
04 [SPEAKER_01]: Do you get it? [SPEAKER_01]: Do you treat the weeds yourself or what do you do for the weeds? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I do myself. [SPEAKER_01]: Sweet. [SPEAKER_01]: I just hand pick them up. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, how's that working? [SPEAKER_01]: It's actually, it's worked phenomenally in the backyard, like it's done really well. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, the way you're talking about what the issue isn't from the backyard, it's the front yard. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's the front yard. [SPEAKER_01]: And the front yard's just for some reason, it just died off. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, right, um, year a bit ago, I asked, I was unhappy with how the guy I, for the first time ever, I asked somebody to spray the lawn instead of me hand picking the weeds. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And they did such a crappy job that I told him they had to come back and they came back way too soon. [SPEAKER_01]: And so they killed the lawn because it was just too much. [SPEAKER_01]: Spray too much of that crap for Because in such a short time it actually killed the one and it hasn't been able to recover since I'm gonna have to help it That sucks that I'd turn it into just a full-fledged garden man.
56 [SPEAKER_01]: That'd be awesome [SPEAKER_01]: the lock. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, then I just have a back-long kids won't go outside and play the one in the back. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just a flower going the front. [SPEAKER_00]: That's a lot of garden. [SPEAKER_00]: Would you have pathways then at least? [SPEAKER_00]: I have one pathway. [SPEAKER_01]: But it would come so it would like so the street, right? [SPEAKER_01]: You could put it in front and I'd have all my flowers and stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: It'd be nice. [SPEAKER_01]: And there's one pathway that goes to the front. [SPEAKER_01]: But it would be like a dead end and it would there'd be a sign that says like if you use the [SPEAKER_01]: No short cuts. [SPEAKER_00]: They were don't write my girl over your garden. [SPEAKER_00]: It'd be a thick dead end, so you can't like get over you That you'd actually feel bad going over him.
36 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that people would feel bad I've seen delivery drivers drop stuff off before and be like me Everything's driveway. [SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: We have lavender on the front. [SPEAKER_01]: We have garden strips that go along the edge of my driveway Of course, as you know, and there's lavender bushes on the edge and I baby them like crazy because Aaron just loves the bees and the lavender and all that [SPEAKER_01]: Man, the amount of times those things get trodden on by somebody who's on their phone at the same time as they're delivering a package. [SPEAKER_01]: Yep, trodden is such a good word, trodden. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not quite as- I think you- Violent is trampled. [UNKNOWN]: Hmm. [SPEAKER_01]: Right? [SPEAKER_01]: I like it. [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, but you know what, there's nothing like getting that extra 20% damage while you're trampling.
16 [SPEAKER_00]: Hmm. [SPEAKER_01]: True. [SPEAKER_01]: That is true. [SPEAKER_01]: 22nd cool down, but who cares? [SPEAKER_00]: What, uh, what do we got going on in P.O.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L.E.L. [SPEAKER_00]: Right, it makes sense that it's path one because that's what's coming next, right? [SPEAKER_00]: So, well, now we know it's coming next, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Our last two episodes were about what is coming next. [SPEAKER_00]: This was kind of what we guessed at though, like this idea that they would announce at a ExcelCon. [SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of fun that they'll uh, so that that's what the just is I get that they're going to do like a live reveal at ExcelCon for 3.3 and then it comes out the week after 3.3 I think, right?
59 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's all right. [SPEAKER_00]: I literally know where it's time to launch a game. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they have to. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's fine. [SPEAKER_00]: It is a difference. [SPEAKER_00]: But I don't, I typically play every single league. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that I'll be able to play 3.3. [SPEAKER_00]: There are so many things to do around that time. [SPEAKER_00]: I've got, you know, wow forever's coming around that time, GTA 6 will be coming around that time. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and they know that too. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like they were in a hard spot. [SPEAKER_01]: They chose their date for whatever the reveal is going to be for past two and you got to stick to it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be your baby going forward. [SPEAKER_01]: But like what's what are your options? [SPEAKER_01]: You come out a month before and you just, you get that income, but you get that, you get people [SPEAKER_01]: Go straight into your sequel launch, smart idea, but the other option was just be completely dead until 2-3 months after.
56 [SPEAKER_00]: Or come on a month early. [SPEAKER_00]: I, for me, I would have rather than come out in October, have a short of 3-29. [SPEAKER_00]: Launch 3.3 leads up into ExcelCon, because for me, [SPEAKER_00]: a November release for 3.3 really cool it's great for everybody who loves playing it I think that's awesome but it's way too close for me to want to go really hard in P.O.E.1 right before the P.O.E.D.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A.L.A [SPEAKER_01]: And then you get that small little buffer in between, and then the hype starts building up, right?
40 [SPEAKER_01]: But they don't actually, I mean, I guess in terms of how it's worked, they actually don't have any hype yet. [SPEAKER_01]: For anything path to our Excel con, whether that's an intentional plan or not. [SPEAKER_01]: If you started in October, you need the hype starting in November, but they don't. [SPEAKER_01]: So who knows? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I want to renew. [SPEAKER_01]: They wouldn't. [SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know how far I had they would ever wouldn't have planned. [SPEAKER_01]: But it is tight. [SPEAKER_01]: But at the same time, it's keeping people in and then it's the big launch. [SPEAKER_00]: I kind of have wondered how much they're holding close to their chest right now with regards to teasers and information. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, are they... [SPEAKER_00]: My assumption is that they really want to have ExcelCon be the place where all the new information is coming.
24 [SPEAKER_00]: Which is okay. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't have a problem with that. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just they're so quiet right now. [SPEAKER_00]: Like it's really weird that we're two weeks, three weeks, sorry away from ExcelCon. [SPEAKER_00]: I think we had one post last week because I like so how I typically will figure out some of our stuff when I'm like what happened in Puy this week if I didn't pay attention I go on to our discord I go to Puy News and I look at the things that came out from from GGA and it's like last week They said we're one month away and then this one was just this [SPEAKER_01]: uh this announcement like there hasn't the really hasn't been anything else so it's been all quiet on the western front and it's um it's interesting like I hate fluff tweets you know what I mean like hey what build are you playing this league launch like I hate it when companies do that or you know like I don't know whatever other crap somebody could come up with for trying to engage in the community like I hate those kind of fluff tweets it's good for a company but I do [SPEAKER_01]: there hasn't even been that and I'm glad they don't do it but it's one of those things where you just hope you'll hope you hope that the reason that there's no trailers, that there's no teasers, that there's no nothing is because they are just wanting to reveal everything and I hope it's not because so we've talked about the definition of full release, right?
40 [SPEAKER_01]: We've exhausted that if they're just going to release everything they have [SPEAKER_01]: without promises and it's just going to be like we don't have to have the full game complete. [SPEAKER_01]: We're just going to put out everything we have that we're comfortable with. [SPEAKER_01]: I hope the silence isn't because they have no idea what's going to be complete or not for long. [SPEAKER_01]: Hmm, or that they don't have enough or they're not concerned like they don't want to tease something like swords in the duelist, and then it's not ready like the Druid was I Please has to be ready. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I agree like you can so and in the past They've just had a tough time keeping up with themselves from the fans perspective who knows what it's like over there But it doesn't matter where the fans so that's the perspective we have but it just doesn't seem like they've been able to keep up with their teasers You know what I mean it was a lot of [SPEAKER_01]: underestimating how much work will go into the final product of it and find whatever bait is beta or early access is early access whatever you call it so i'm just just for my sake as fan i'm hoping that the reason there isn't trailers or teasers is because [SPEAKER_01]: They're planning just this everything everything's at excel content welcome next I'll count you spend a few thousand dollars to get your awesome Here's your here's your reward kind of thing.
53 [SPEAKER_01]: I hope it's not because they have no idea what's gonna be ready or not you know what I mean [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, my assumption is they probably do have a good idea of what's going to be ready. [SPEAKER_00]: But my YouTube, me too, it's been a quiet six months, hasn't it? [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe unfair expectation, I don't know, I'm, I'm fair, I'm, I'm okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Say that's an unfair expectation of my end is that there's more than what they've teased us so far. [SPEAKER_00]: I, and I've said this before, like, uh, I don't want to just see the dualists and swords. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's just me being a bit of fair. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's, I'm okay with not being unfair, man. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's not being unfair. [SPEAKER_00]: I, I, I, I still have a minimum that well, but it's been a minimum though because we've seen it now. [SPEAKER_00]: So like, I don't know what it would have been differently. [SPEAKER_00]: How they teased it at exalcon.
35 [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_00]: Like if we hadn't been told to listen swords were ready and then at exalcon it was announced it might have flown a little bit different. [SPEAKER_00]: But for me now, I'm like, wow, you teased this like, [SPEAKER_00]: The pretty long time ago, so surely that can't be the only thing that's going to become out. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's my hope. [SPEAKER_00]: That's my hope for us. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll go. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: We've gotten to quite the disagreement, I think, was it the main episode after Dark Last Week on? [SPEAKER_01]: Regarding? [SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know, I'm going Dex Alcon, which I'm very thankful and excited for, I cannot wait. [SPEAKER_01]: And I cannot wait. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'll just be really cool to be around. [SPEAKER_01]: That's going to be all us other nerds, right? [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean, just seeing people around, getting excited and getting, you know, that kind of stuff.
19 [SPEAKER_01]: But you were talking to me like so what would you say a tie when you come back or for recording live when we're on the weekend or whatever What would you say if they ended up revealing AddX Alcon that all classes types of room and would you be excited or what you would your reaction be and to me? [SPEAKER_01]: That's like because of what they've said the releases you know using the word full that kind of stuff I'm like well, yeah, that's that's expected [SPEAKER_01]: So right so then we got a big kissy match about you know why I would be excited about it and stuff like that and So it's a really Tyler. [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no, no, I don't choose their words or marketing, but my point is not to get back into that, but it's just [SPEAKER_01]: You talk about if the only came out with like two ascendancy duelists, and To what they've already told us and swords.
11 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, man. [SPEAKER_01]: No way, but I like I would not I I'm not that's not even a conversation to be that that to me is They've definitely got Well loads planned [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think they take and they've really like, sure they've messed up their schedule often throughout early access for both games, but they really like they're like, okay, we're taking the time December 11th the day to think whatever whatever it is, I think it's December 11th December 11th the day [SPEAKER_01]: And so, sure, we can be like, oh, where's our tweezers? [SPEAKER_01]: Or, oh, where's this? [SPEAKER_01]: Or, oh, the timing of path one. [SPEAKER_01]: But at the end of the day, they're just like, we are going to get this done. [SPEAKER_01]: And so, the silence, if, I mean, the silence is worth it.
56 [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_01]: Like, if they're just putting their heads down, they are going crazy, they're doing their best. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, that's, I'm super excited to see what they have to reveal. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think it's going to be fun. [SPEAKER_00]: I see it at XOCon. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think it's the right attitude too. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_01]: Like whether or not you've been here to your schedule or not like that to just like boom, this is our date. [SPEAKER_01]: We're giving everything for it. [SPEAKER_01]: Lock communications totally worth that. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, as long as it's as long as in the end, there's some sweetness coming on, you know, December 11th or whatever that date is. [SPEAKER_00]: And we're shown some of it at X. I like, yeah, X, I'll come to me is just such a big hype. [SPEAKER_00]: It's so cool. [SPEAKER_00]: It's so fun. [SPEAKER_00]: I love that they do it.
37 [SPEAKER_00]: I love that it's been successful for them. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, that's crazy. [SPEAKER_00]: Considering where that game were, Palavex, I was come from to where it is now is so fun. [SPEAKER_00]: It is. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the anniversary dates 13 years ago. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And to be doing a conference for your in New Zealand. [SPEAKER_00]: And literally one of the hardest longest places to travel to in the whole world. [SPEAKER_00]: And they're pulled off and they fill it and people come every time is really, really cool. [SPEAKER_00]: So my hope is just that, uh, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I obviously want to see some big announcements, but that's only because Path of Excel 2 is going to be one month from that time. [SPEAKER_00]: If Path of Excel 2's release was in an ounce and we didn't know when it was coming, it might feel a little bit different, but yeah.
22 [SPEAKER_00]: I think they've always got pressure on them now for an Excel con and it's on them always going to be there just because it's an expected anticipation after we saw what happened at the first one. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, a path of XL2 announcement just was so big. [SPEAKER_00]: We didn't have that in the XLcon 2. [SPEAKER_00]: So that was kind of fair for them to be like, we can't do this every time. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but it's still gonna be an expectation every time we have it. [SPEAKER_01]: So I think that their favorite XLcon ever, outside of the first one, I think their favorite XLcon ever will be the one after path 2 is released. [SPEAKER_01]: So not this coming, but the next one. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, because now what big announcement could you like nobody's expecting anything?
05 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, but nobody's going to care about that, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah [SPEAKER_00]: That's right. [SPEAKER_00]: That's right. [SPEAKER_01]: I got an Excel con for. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I know. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, good. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: One Excel con per base type and a new class type. [SPEAKER_01]: That's right. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: No, hey slow and steady rather game lasted 13 years before the second one came up.
45 [SPEAKER_01]: So true. [SPEAKER_00]: They got time. [SPEAKER_01]: But no, like that will be a such a relief for them. [SPEAKER_01]: There's going to like who could ever have expectations. [SPEAKER_01]: for that next x.con, you know what I mean? [SPEAKER_01]: Whereas this one, the date's up. [SPEAKER_00]: So now it's just like big reveals, you know what I mean? [SPEAKER_00]: I was just thinking through the whole 3.3 for Path of X01 and I wonder if it's actually not a terrible idea for them to have it in November because there's like just guessing. [SPEAKER_00]: But the one month apart difference for the launches obviously is not what they want to do continuing going forward. [SPEAKER_00]: So they'd have to have an offset at some point because there's only going to be that one month [SPEAKER_00]: and it's probably better to have the path of Excel one league go longer because it's started later than to, because with it coming out November and then this coming out in December, they're going to want to be in that continuous launch, where POE2's coming out every December, right?
46 [SPEAKER_00]: Like that's usually what they do. [SPEAKER_00]: So then that means that the path of Excel one league might [SPEAKER_01]: So if you are GGG, do you come out with a new path one league two months after path two is released? [SPEAKER_00]: It depends on if they want to keep their schedule. [SPEAKER_00]: I wish they wouldn't commit to a timeline schedule, though. [SPEAKER_00]: Personally, I would rather them just... [SPEAKER_00]: Tell us when they're come like don't give me like I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not a huge fan of the four month schedule bounce between the two. [SPEAKER_00]: So two months between one and two because it puts a at least I feel like an unnecessary Hankov on them.
29 [SPEAKER_00]: I just come out with it when you're planning to come out with a give us like a month heads up. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't need to know that every two months I should expect them to do that [SPEAKER_00]: for me personally. [SPEAKER_00]: So I would assume that they would probably be trying for that for the 3.3 one or whatever they're going into to be two months after PLE2, but that will also probably pretty heavily depend on how their path of Excel 2 launch goes. [SPEAKER_00]: At least I would think, I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: You don't think they have already decided. [SPEAKER_01]: There's going to be a long way. [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't matter, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe the official launch isn't that. [SPEAKER_01]: But their choices are if they're going to maintain the schedule, you don't want them to be one month apart forever, like you said.
12 [SPEAKER_01]: So it's either they come out with path one two months after path two comes out. [SPEAKER_01]: Or five months. [SPEAKER_01]: I think they would probably like you've got to wait But yes, I think they're gonna come out. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know like it's tough like who knows what the reception for past two is gonna be like and You know in the past who knows what it's like now, but they were swapping team members from one game to another They weren't all that consistent with it who knows what it's like now But it's just one of those things where it's like [SPEAKER_01]: If Path 2 doesn't launch the way they want, and they're trying to get something out, is that going to screw over Path 1's launch? [SPEAKER_00]: I have a card because they have so much still, at least from what we understand, if they're only coming out with the dualist in the swords, there is still a lot of development that is still coming to Path 2.
02 [SPEAKER_00]: If that's the case, so I think when they have all of that base type stuff in the game, then it probably becomes an easier thing for them to manage the [SPEAKER_00]: But I think well, if they're still in the mode of we still have classes and we saw the tendencies and we still base types and we still skills like I'm not really sure how how they keep up with it. [SPEAKER_00]: And the only reason I say that is because they haven't yet but we just haven't seen them do it yet. [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, we really haven't. [SPEAKER_01]: They didn't really adhere to the full cycle. [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't care that doesn't bother me, but it bothers me so much less when [SPEAKER_00]: When I have no expectation or whatever, I path of Excel to me is such a good game because I can play it, I can get so much time out of it and then I can move on to the next thing.
49 [SPEAKER_00]: And if I enjoy it enough, or I'm excited enough, I pay some money to the developers and I like that flow. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't ever think ahead like, okay, I'm done, I'm gonna have to wait a month and then I'll play it again. [SPEAKER_00]: I just, when that time rolls around, I go sweet, they're coming up with a new league. [SPEAKER_00]: It's time to play. [SPEAKER_00]: I think they're gonna stick with the tune too. [SPEAKER_01]: They'll do it, they'll figure out a system, they'll figure out a way, making games different than maintaining a game, so they'll figure it out. [SPEAKER_00]: But at what point, that's why I'm curious when are they maintaining Path of Excel 2 versus making Path of Excel 2? [SPEAKER_00]: Because if they're still lacking all their classes, or half their classes, or a third of their classes, or one class even.
30 [SPEAKER_01]: they're not in a maintain. [SPEAKER_01]: No, we find out at Paxelcon. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, if it's maintain or not, because if you're going to be still creating your game for the next year and a half, it's going to be hard to keep that cell warm, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm curious to see too, and this will be a bit of an Excel comment. [SPEAKER_00]: There's actually going to be some fun answers to come at Excel Comp because I'm curious to see what 3.3 is, 3.30, sorry. [SPEAKER_00]: Is it actual content where you're like holy crap, they built that while building PWE2? [SPEAKER_00]: But then that also, or is it, here's a ritual event type league where they did not have to really create a whole lot of new stuff.
15 [SPEAKER_00]: They're just adjusting what they currently have. [SPEAKER_00]: But then that also ties into what do we see announced for POE 2 because there are four different sort of scenarios. [SPEAKER_00]: Like you either see a really cool POE 1 league and a bunch of content for POE 2. [SPEAKER_00]: You see a brand new cool POE 1 league and you're like, well, they still only have to listen to swords. [SPEAKER_00]: Where did that time spend and then vice first on the other side, right? [SPEAKER_00]: So, it'll be fun to see, because I am quite curious. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'll answer a lot of questions and probably give us many more. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, for just good, because then we have stuff to talk about. [SPEAKER_00]: Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha [SPEAKER_00]: like there's not much going on in the world of GG and that I'm hoping is to their credit and that's to build up some anticipation and excitement.
03 [SPEAKER_00]: I could still use a little bit. [SPEAKER_00]: Even if it's not content, T's ex-alcon. [SPEAKER_00]: T's what happened in the first one, and what happened in the second one, and show pictures and videos, and like, there's stuff to do that doesn't spoil anything. [SPEAKER_00]: Right, you don't have to talk about where they're existing stuff, nothing. [SPEAKER_01]: They did us cosplays last week. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, did they, okay, that's cool. [SPEAKER_01]: Because they, and while remember, they announced like, hey, here's your costume. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, what you could, right? [SPEAKER_01]: And so then they had hidden, here were some cosplays from last time. [SPEAKER_00]: I still think it's worth while teasing that stuff because you can't buy tickets so nobody knew is going but that's fine because everybody else is going to be excited about the idea that Excel counts come in that there's going to be stuff there and even for the person at home there is content to consume during Excel count.
46 [SPEAKER_00]: They, they lie stream so much of it. [SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, that would be good. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you know, I don't, because I don't know exactly about this Excel Con, and I don't even know how they did it in the second one. [SPEAKER_00]: But do they have, do they have sessions, like have you gotten a timeline of like what happens on each day yet? [SPEAKER_00]: No, I wonder if that was a thing we got once we were there because there were really cool sessions on like how they do stuff in fact I think they did it last last time as well and then they released those as videos later where you could Like the developer talks, but they were just get that when you pick up our badges or something like that Like there's a day where you go to check in and get your stuff and then I hope they have stuff like that again Where you as the person there can go [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously things, and then they won't be visible or seen to the public until they put on YouTube because that's fun.
34 [SPEAKER_00]: I think that's cool that the people going there have this early access to seeing the behind the scenes stuff of how developers are working and things that are happening in the games, and then they release those later to the public on YouTube or whatever they do. [SPEAKER_00]: Should be fun then. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it should be. [SPEAKER_01]: I think we should bust through this quick. [SPEAKER_01]: Tell me I have so remember I have a tab in Trello about old old old old subjects Okay, so there we go in summer back to 2021 wow So all of these are gonna be irrelevant except for one you bring it up your relevant one's June Yeah, I'll be okay here's an irrelevant one tell me delete all right so this one was [SPEAKER_00]: Did I add any of these or the re-review of Path of Exile, MMORPG?
20 [SPEAKER_01]: It was done by, oh MMORPG.com, right, right, right. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's an article. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's an article. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's an article. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's an article. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's an article. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's an article. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's an article. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's an article. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's an article. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's an article. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's an article. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's an article. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the re-review. [SPEAKER_00]: What came out in 2023 that would have caused that? [SPEAKER_00]: Don't know, delete, huh? [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, because that wouldn't even mean the POE2. [SPEAKER_01]: I started making a list of gems and path one with missing descriptions. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: How is it? [SPEAKER_01]: Did you submit this to them? [SPEAKER_01]: This ticket? [SPEAKER_01]: Which I never updated has a patch notes of three point two five point one. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, which seems really recent.
02 [SPEAKER_01]: That seems recent. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but really that's three point Now because anyway this this card was added in 2020 12 2020 maybe you cleared off ones that they fixed maybe you were keeping that up today. [SPEAKER_01]: No, because SRS is still there [SPEAKER_01]: All right, then there's a comment that says this game needs editable fusing user limits, so like you can basically like say like I want to use 15 fusing's go right and then we'll use up to that was December 2020. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, [SPEAKER_01]: good talk.
03 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh man, there was, I would have had. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure there were more that four years ago. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And in 2023, December, PC gamer did a full POE 2 interview. [SPEAKER_01]: What did they say was going to happen? [SPEAKER_01]: Um, POE 2 is going to start slow, but you get to screen clearing speeds. [SPEAKER_01]: It's simpler. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not over. [SPEAKER_01]: This [SPEAKER_01]: What's this one? [SPEAKER_01]: This is 2023. [SPEAKER_01]: 23. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, uh, experience players will still be able to break the game. [SPEAKER_01]: Every boss move is dodgable. [SPEAKER_01]: Enemy AI improvements.
43 [SPEAKER_01]: Rory had a Rivendale logo set on his desk. [SPEAKER_00]: What's a Rivendale logo set on his desk? [SPEAKER_00]: Rory, who's normal? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I remember Rory, we talked with him. [SPEAKER_00]: What's Rivendale? [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, from, um, Lord of the Rings, so it's like the, the Rivendale set, cool. [SPEAKER_00]: That is pretty cool. [SPEAKER_01]: Every class has been redone or improved. [SPEAKER_01]: Mark called a class or an ascendancy, the brute. [SPEAKER_01]: That's it. [SPEAKER_01]: Those are my notes from a conversation and in an interview, I do not remember. [SPEAKER_01]: Delete. [SPEAKER_00]: Interesting that in 2023 a comment that every class has been redone. [SPEAKER_00]: Have they, though? [SPEAKER_00]: You haven't seen that yet, so guess what we'll find out.
24 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, in all honesty, what I guess what they're saying is like if there's not copy and pasting path 1, yeah, that's true. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: Now Rock Paper Shotgun. [SPEAKER_01]: interviewed the creators of Path of Excel and how do you make a video game? [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, how do you make a video game loop feel satisfying? [SPEAKER_01]: But not too much. [SPEAKER_01]: We asked the creators of Path of Excel. [SPEAKER_00]: When was this? [SPEAKER_00]: Done? [SPEAKER_00]: 2023. [SPEAKER_00]: How'd that go? [SPEAKER_00]: Did you read that? [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if that's a... [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if I would. [SPEAKER_00]: I'd be asking them about how loot's supposed to work. [SPEAKER_01]: Nailed. [SPEAKER_01]: They said, trade is very important.
05 [SPEAKER_01]: It's very important that you feel like items that you have are never completely compromised by future content. [SPEAKER_01]: You can't have things complicated so people don't understand what's going on. [SPEAKER_01]: We, article, no follow up questions. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: going through all of this Justin nail it go what's next red at pv rule number three negative activity based on platform of choice oh so like people wait maybe put that at a note for me you were like hey they're not allowed to do on red it you're not allowed to do it here maybe that's from 2021 so i'm not that bad boy all right oh i fixed Justin great news in 2021 i fixed my [SPEAKER_01]: Sweet, glad I kept that window one was that one from was that 2021 as well 2021.
54 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so also in August Justin I've been waiting five years for you to answer this question August 2021. [SPEAKER_01]: Where do you go to [SPEAKER_01]: Also in August 2021. [SPEAKER_01]: I love that I just love me before you finish it. [SPEAKER_00]: I love that you we have Count like that's five years. [SPEAKER_00]: We yeah, man. [SPEAKER_00]: That's crazy that we've been doing for that one. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, go. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: What do you guys? [SPEAKER_01]: Awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: Thanks, Tarky. [SPEAKER_01]: I love that I don't need mana to regen to turn on my oras. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh That was five years. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyone five years ago. [SPEAKER_01]: They made it so that oras were instant skills. [SPEAKER_01]: That does not feel like it was five years ago, right?
34 [SPEAKER_00]: Wow. [SPEAKER_00]: That's cool [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, that is so funny because that just gave me a reminder of the XL come that I went to when they announced this idea of like you'll be able to turn it all of them at one time all your things and now they don't even have or as they're only skills on sectors that are automatically on for free is not crazy like they're gone from like or as aren't even a thing or as are going to come in you know they're going to come. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, November 2021. [SPEAKER_01]: You think the core game of Pewey is getting better for slow players or builds? [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: Five years ago. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Justin just a heads up in November 2021.
16 [SPEAKER_01]: Pride, the aura, total frame per second talk. [SPEAKER_01]: Pride was, really? [SPEAKER_01]: Pride was, yep. [SPEAKER_01]: Interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: In 2022, I have a note that says death cam, highlight reel, interactive, so you can highlight stuff, so death cam or death cap. [SPEAKER_00]: Are you answer to the death recap? [SPEAKER_00]: Like a, like a the last four seconds of your gameplay is it get, can you? [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, that's then then you can like interact with so you can highlight stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: I think that's my idea. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that would be a cool idea, never, ever will happen, but that would be fun. [SPEAKER_01]: But we're halfway there, like with the ability to pause the game now and highlight certain things.
58 [SPEAKER_00]: If you could have like a three-second recap that only existed for like the next 10 minutes, and you could slow it down and click on stuff within it, go 360, so I can change the angle to understand what happened. [SPEAKER_00]: It's the F1 experience for when we watch the, or when you look at your replays in F1, you know, we used to like take pictures and stuff, it was for fun, but it's a for fun, it's a for fun, it's a for fun, it's a for fun. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, Justin, back in March 2022, could you imagine thinking about path of exile without attributes? [SPEAKER_01]: What would have ever written grace or determination, bows, wants, imagine your options if you didn't have to adhere to attributes? [SPEAKER_00]: I would hate that.
39 [SPEAKER_00]: I love attributes. [SPEAKER_00]: I love that they have them. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't always agree with where they've set them, but I don't want everybody. [SPEAKER_00]: You can take that. [SPEAKER_00]: You can take your opinion out. [SPEAKER_00]: That's incorrect. [SPEAKER_00]: You can take your opinion out. [SPEAKER_00]: OK. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not fun if you agree on everything. [SPEAKER_01]: April 2022. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I'm always right. [SPEAKER_00]: So you just sound like an idiot when you disagree with me. [SPEAKER_00]: No attributes. [SPEAKER_00]: You're telling me that somebody was 700 inch should be able to pick up a giant to hand a mace? [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: Come on. [SPEAKER_00]: Why not? [SPEAKER_00]: Because they're a wizard. [SPEAKER_00]: They were a robe. [SPEAKER_00]: They're not picking up a big meaty mace. [SPEAKER_01]: Unless they're doing it with magic, it's the, it's what the skills used for it to meet a matters in the void, the item. [SPEAKER_01]: Hmm. [SPEAKER_00]: I like attributes, but anyway, go ahead.
20 [SPEAKER_00]: What's our next one? [SPEAKER_01]: Twenty-twenty-two, melee efficiency, instead of melee accuracy, so note from after dark apparently. [SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, you see, he's always driven me nuts, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Like you can walk around friends with, and you miss, like, you know, I do like the idea of efficiency versus accuracy, where, if I was to have, if they called it a miss, maybe I dealt like 30% of the damage, but it still did hit. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's exactly what this was like. [SPEAKER_01]: Missing shouldn't exist. [SPEAKER_01]: It just, it's a weaker hit. [SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: I agree. [SPEAKER_01]: Conquer. [SPEAKER_00]: When was that 2022? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, man, look at us, we're so bogged. [SPEAKER_01]: Right, I think you're seeing make sense for projectiles. [SPEAKER_01]: Even spells, right?
03 [SPEAKER_01]: I hate missing anything. [SPEAKER_00]: I really, it always bothers me in any game because you can't account for it. [SPEAKER_00]: It's really hard to try and plan damage build whatever it is around that stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: So I like the efficiency idea better. [SPEAKER_01]: or even get rid of the efficiencies nice and even for projectiles instead of having accuracy just do something like projectile speed you're going to hit unless they move out of the way so maybe projectile speed has much more has some in value because you're going to like want it to get there as fast as possible yep oh wait i get to use the mute button look at him [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I'd never be able to get that out. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my goodness, he's just dying.
44 [SPEAKER_00]: Thank God, you guys are lucky. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm pretty sure the camera will switch to me through all of that. [SPEAKER_00]: Nobody will watch, and we're back. [SPEAKER_01]: In 2022, Justin, cast when stunned support is amazing. [SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: And I liked it before it was cool. [SPEAKER_01]: So I guess it ended up becoming cool and I liked it before it was cool. [SPEAKER_00]: And I like liking zombies before the bear and helm came out. [SPEAKER_00]: I would bet that you like cast one stun, more the way that GG originally intended cast one stun to work versus what it became for the player base who started to realize that you could really affect the threshold of the stun where it wasn't even [SPEAKER_00]: Perceivable to you that you're being stunned game is registering the stun so yeah kudos time Nice job.
28 [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a way better man Multiplyer than casting damage taken Even though it makes me a little nauseous. [SPEAKER_01]: I have the visual indicator for when my gems and triggers go off I can take care of my stun with much less investment because I'm okay with the benefits of the occasional stuff [SPEAKER_01]: I wonder if you feel the same way if stunned stop you from being able to heal, to use like you couldn't use a health potion while you were stunned. [SPEAKER_01]: Did you know, Justin? [SPEAKER_01]: This is a 2022 note. [SPEAKER_01]: Did you know that character names expire from an account if it's been inactive for over a year? [SPEAKER_01]: If the character's been active or that account's been inactive?
11 [SPEAKER_00]: It's got to be complete. [SPEAKER_00]: There's no way it's the character if the account's been used because I have characters I have not logged into in forever. [SPEAKER_01]: From 2022, Justin, for the upcoming league, which I don't know which league that is. [SPEAKER_01]: Are there any guild touch ups you'd like to see? [SPEAKER_00]: No, they've done them all since then. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so I think the game's couple long way. [SPEAKER_01]: GGG. [SPEAKER_01]: If you've made it this far into the episode, please have guilds worth. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think. [SPEAKER_01]: I think guilds are your past one guild options set everything. [SPEAKER_00]: They just carried all that over to two. [SPEAKER_00]: Hab, salute, trash.
52 [SPEAKER_00]: But that's exactly what they carried to get. [SPEAKER_01]: Path of Excel is guilds are the exact same. [SPEAKER_01]: Please give a crap. [SPEAKER_01]: about guilds. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not even if you put guilds in. [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll tell you what that just simply put give permission control for a guild leader to actually have some control over the permissions they give an officer and members. [SPEAKER_00]: Because right now everything relies on the guild leader and that sucks. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, yeah, and there's like that nothing for anything. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just it's not so shallow and empty Sad and pointless. [SPEAKER_01]: And there's no reason to use the guilt hideout when you've invested all in your own like there's The social interactions aren't there. [SPEAKER_00]: It's well inferring It's it's easier.
35 [SPEAKER_00]: It's more simple to use like we use the 21 21 general chat than it is to use the guilt chat. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm so [SPEAKER_01]: uh, this note here's from 2022. [SPEAKER_01]: It has a massive description. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not getting into a voltaxic, voltaxic bursts shortly after. [SPEAKER_00]: Hmm, I can't even think of what Wiltaxic burst is. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, Justin, this is called Justin Notes. [SPEAKER_01]: I made a note from June 2026. [SPEAKER_01]: This is when I started. [SPEAKER_01]: And you have a note called Balance of Power in Path 2. [SPEAKER_01]: Think it's from the Tree, Alice Pass of Tree, and you've got a lot of notes here.
18 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, what? [SPEAKER_00]: Balance of Power, what is that? [SPEAKER_00]: That's two. [SPEAKER_00]: Balance of power is a multi-choice keystone on the Abyss. [SPEAKER_00]: Atlas Tree. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, thank you. [SPEAKER_00]: I know that you're notes here. [SPEAKER_01]: We like the mapping and bossing. [SPEAKER_01]: Why is a boss end of map progressing but nothing else does. [SPEAKER_01]: Dumb design. [SPEAKER_01]: Control of vibrations. [SPEAKER_01]: Hold on. [SPEAKER_01]: Where am I? [SPEAKER_00]: No, it's where do I find this? [SPEAKER_00]: Click on the picture. [SPEAKER_01]: Click on the note. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Want me to take over here? [SPEAKER_00]: And you can do your view. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Show me. [SPEAKER_00]: Alright. [SPEAKER_00]: Here we go. [SPEAKER_00]: Justin's notes new edit hideout is very cool top down. [SPEAKER_00]: What am I looking at the same one as you? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: They did the top down. [SPEAKER_00]: I think we talked about this in one episode. [SPEAKER_00]: Apparently that top down editing in your hideout though is only controller support.
01 [SPEAKER_00]: People told me that that was only controller support, which is crazy. [SPEAKER_00]: Also, [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, if funny, I don't remember how to get back to it. [SPEAKER_00]: I was playing this last league and I was trying to make some edits and I could not remember and there's no obvious way on the controller, how to get to that top down view again. [SPEAKER_00]: So I hope they didn't remove it. [SPEAKER_00]: No import for controller had, yeah, for command. [SPEAKER_00]: The whole hideout edit thing is keyboard and mouse versus controller, not clean. [SPEAKER_00]: I really hope they have hot swap, you know, for the full release. [SPEAKER_00]: Let me use keyboard and mouse and controller at the same time. [SPEAKER_00]: right? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Yep. [SPEAKER_00]: Yep. [SPEAKER_00]: The thing around balance of power that I brought up was that you have to pick an Abyss faction. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm sure we've talked about this before, but like telling me Aminamu, Kyrgyl, Alumin or any faction is so not helpful.
48 [SPEAKER_00]: None of those things were clickable. [SPEAKER_00]: I have no clue what they mean. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what they, the benefit of them is. [SPEAKER_00]: And I hate that I feel stupid when I read those. [SPEAKER_00]: It really bugs me because I feel like I know the game [SPEAKER_00]: Mac and Embossine, why does a boss end a map game purpose? [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I feel like maybe some of my notes made it in, I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I hate that the boss ends map progression. [SPEAKER_00]: I hope that, that we've talked about that actually is like one thing that I really hope that's fixed with the next one is how they deal with their maps and I think that's stupid. [SPEAKER_00]: Control or vibration being brutal, we talked about that, it is a bit rough.
32 [SPEAKER_00]: Hmm. [SPEAKER_00]: Clicking on 300 plus things to get your Alice Passive Points is insane, did they actually play that? [SPEAKER_00]: Playtest this. [SPEAKER_00]: Ah, yeah, I probably wasn't in a good mood when I wrote that, but it's not wrong. [SPEAKER_00]: The Alice Passive Points are a lot. [SPEAKER_00]: Same for the pushbacks from the rune things that come from the ground. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't remember all my notes, but bosses and portals still suck so bad. [SPEAKER_00]: They're forcing you to always save the boss until last. [SPEAKER_00]: If you die, the boy, a lot of my stuff is pretty much tied into the same thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and it's funny though how much our hopes or criticisms or things that we even do are like really not very much has changed with the early access since it's come out.
17 [SPEAKER_00]: they've added, but they haven't really changed much. [SPEAKER_00]: There's been a couple like towers, stuff like that have changed, but there's been very little that's, it's been of the same kind of have changed a long time. [SPEAKER_00]: Because even just this last one was a complete overall of the end game, which what did change it and they completely changed the outless passive, I just think that they made some of the changes a bit quick, [SPEAKER_00]: And then I don't feel like they've fully tested them. [SPEAKER_00]: And to the point where I'm going to be curious if that's how they come out with the Path of Excel 2 release. [SPEAKER_00]: The way that the Atlas passive is right, can I delete your note? [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, you can. [SPEAKER_00]: The way that they deal with the Alice Passives right now in Path of Excel 2, I would just surprise me if that is what they want.
02 [SPEAKER_00]: If it's working the way that they hope it will work and that this is the experience they want the player to have, [SPEAKER_00]: I just don't like it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't like that there's no, there's very little difference to what I'm doing to what you're doing and the process to get the points is insanely long, like, just really, really long. [SPEAKER_00]: Unless you, whatever the people told me in the comments, but like you kill the boss two times or something and then all of a sudden you're like, okay, here's all the points, here's all 300 points. [SPEAKER_00]: You could just go ahead and assign them. [SPEAKER_00]: And also, if you're just going to assign me 300 points, you apply them. [SPEAKER_01]: Don't make me click 300, especially if everybody's going to put them in the same spot, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you can leave the keystones and the notables, the things that I actually have a choice on, sure.
45 [SPEAKER_00]: Don't select those ones, but everything else, could you just do it for me? [SPEAKER_00]: Because... [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't like the Alice passive in Pui2 compared to Pui1, so I'm curious if that is what it's meant to be. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, we'll find out though, Justin. [SPEAKER_01]: Yo, I don't know when the last time we went through those old subjects was, felt like it is empty now. [SPEAKER_00]: If I'll go clean slate for the launch and path too. [SPEAKER_00]: That is impressive that we got through them. [SPEAKER_00]: I like that. [SPEAKER_00]: I like that you kept them through the years. [SPEAKER_01]: It's, well, you don't realize what you're keeping, like if you don't go back to it all over and over and how many I have deleted over the past because we have, but yeah, obviously it's been a bit and then how outdated has it been since early access started, right?
29 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm care about half of that anymore because I early access. [SPEAKER_00]: Nope. [SPEAKER_00]: Sweet men, well, I don't have much else. [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's gonna be a shorter episode this week. [SPEAKER_00]: Believe that towards ExcelCon, we're getting closer and closer to some actual information. [SPEAKER_00]: Looking forward to it, it's gonna be really exciting. [SPEAKER_00]: That is, you're gonna have a lot of fun. [SPEAKER_00]: When you leave, you actually November something? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, third, I think. [SPEAKER_00]: Sweet, three weeks away, you do. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's the tell me enough to our talk. [SPEAKER_00]: Go some kids' thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's right, that'll happen, yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Sweet, let's wrap this up then forever XL366, I'm just an AK tags, and I'm Tyler record of this. [SPEAKER_00]: Patrons will catch you and after dark everybody else with CNX Week 367, like a week or two before XLC on at that point.
12 [SPEAKER_00]: So, let's see what happens. [SPEAKER_00]: What do we got? [SPEAKER_00]: We got a website forever XL.com. [SPEAKER_00]: We'd be very fun to support pop in there, say hello, and Patreon, otherwise support podcasts to find them in the links below. [SPEAKER_00]: Have a great week.
